About I’m Bulking
I'm Bulking is basically what happens when you stop curating and start collecting. These aren't songs I made to fit a concept—they're tracks I kept coming back to, ones where the violin or guzheng actually earned its place against the distortion instead of just sitting on top of it. Some of them are new, some have been living in different versions for years. What they share is that moment where orchestral texture and heavy guitar stop being separate things and become one texture.
“"New Crowned King" sits somewhere heavier, all regal minor-key territory with modal scales that feel borrowed from both worlds.”
The collection spans pretty wide sonically. "Mozart Rocks" leans into the classical collision head-on, but "Solo Leveling" and "Binary Emotions" work the strings more subtly—they're woven into the rhythm section rather than playing counterpoint to it. "New Crowned King" sits somewhere heavier, all regal minor-key territory with modal scales that feel borrowed from both worlds. The sequencing moves between aggressive passages and sparse arrangements (especially across the "Moments of Silence" tracks), so it's not meant to blast through in one sitting. "Break free from Hell" and "F!CK NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTION" both have that defiant thing going, but they get there differently—one's orchestral apocalypse, the other's just pure spite with guitars.
I wanted something that felt like actual listening, where the instrumentation makes real choices instead of defaulting to the usual metal formula. The strings aren't there for decoration. When they show up, they change what the guitars can do.
