About Mozart Rocks

I pulled together Mozart Rocks because I kept hitting the same wall in my own work: how do you make classical gestures brutal without sounding like a joke? These tracks—mine and collaborators'—share that obsession. They're not samples layered over metal. They're actual collisions, where a string arrangement doesn't soften the guitar; it sharpens it.

Mozart Rocks is heavy without needing to prove it, intricate without disappearing into its own arrangements.

The collection moves through different flavors of that tension. Generation Alpha locks orchestral strings into angular guitar riffs that refuse to resolve cleanly, channeling that specific dread of existing in a hyperconnected void. Then something like Moments of Silence strips back to tremolo strings and sparse picking, letting silence do the heavy work. The title track plants you directly in the contradiction—baroque melody fractured by distortion and double bass drums, no apology for the weirdness. Later, New Crowned King and The Fallen Heroes bring in that cinematic weight, where the orchestra isn't decoration; it's part of the riff itself, hitting at different times than you'd expect.

What ties these together is the tuning and time signature choices. You'll hear a lot of dropped-D variants, modal scales borrowed from folk traditions, and breakdowns that sit in spaces like 7/8 or 13/8 instead of settling into something comfortable. It keeps the listener off-balance the way an unresolved chord does—that classical trick, deployed through distortion. Mozart Rocks is heavy without needing to prove it, intricate without disappearing into its own arrangements.
